An introduction to WMC's running and walking packs.

Walkers

Coffee Walkers
Go out for an hour, have coffee somewhere in Wellington, then come back.
Pack Leader Liz Lane

The Mods
(Moderate) Walkers - Two hours plus. They keep up a steady perspiration inducing pace which gets the blood flowing.
Pack Leader Bill Buxton.

The Rockers
(Fast Walkers) - They are not race walkers but they don't mess around. Most people have to jog along to keep up with them.
Pack Leader Robert Tredger.

Runners

7+ minutes/k
You can just keep up with them with a fast walk. They go 7+ out for between 1½ to 2 hours.
Pack Leader Brian Pearl.

6½ min/k
Go out for 2 hours. Usually some of it is a bit of off road running along the tracks around Wellington.
Pack leader Rob Julian.

6 min/k
Two hours. A great male: female ratio of about 2:12. Great for the guys that is.
Pack Leader Bill Black.

5¾ min/k
Two hours. The reverse male:female ratio to the above.
Pack Leader Vijay Sukhalal.

5½ min/k and 5¼ min/k
Often join up depending on which of the pack leaders has done an off road event the day before.
Pack Leaders Jillian Preston and Tony Coard.

5.0 - 4½ min/k
These guys are looking to finish a marathon in as close to 3 hours as they can get. The group often split in two with one running at 5 min/k and the other at 4½ min/k depending on what events are coming up, or what event they have just run.Pack Leader Gordie Clark.
